County Commissioner David Rook - District 1
|
David Rook was elected to the Weakley County Commission in August 1994 to serve the people of the First District. He was then reelected in 1998 and in 2002, running on the Democratic ticket. Commissioner Rook represents the northeastern part of the county, which includes Dukedom, Latham, Palmersville, as well as some parts of Dresden, Gleason, and Cottage Grove.
Commissioner Rook serves as Vice-Chairman on the Weakley County Nursing Home committee and is a Chairman of the Public Works committee. He is also a member of the Palmersville Ruritain Club.
Commissioner Rook is a 1971 graduate of Palmersville High School. He is a supervisor at Ellis Heating Company in Paris, TN. He also manages a family farm with the help of his son where they row crop and raise beef cattle.
His wife, former Vickie Collins, is the secretary at Dresden Middle School. They have been married for 25 years and have three children; Lindsey, 24, Douglas, 22, and Emily, 17. Lindsey is married to Josh Johnson and they have two children, Carson, 2, and Garrett, 5 mos. |
Commissioner Rook and his family are active members at the Palmersville Church of Christ where he serves as an elder. Commissioner Rook resides at 1035 Buckley Road in Cottage Grove.
