County Commissioner Joe Farmer- District 4

Joe Wayne Farmer serves citizens of District 4 as their county commissioner. His first two terms on the Weakley County Commission were from 1994-2002, representing another district. He serves on the Public Works and Nursing Home committees.

Farmer graduated from Dresden High School in 1964 and UT Knoxville in 1968. He then taught mathematics and science courses at Dresden High School until 1975. He received his Masters degree in Educational Administration from UT Martin in 1972. Farmer entered the UT School of Pharmacy in 1975 and finished the program in 1978.

Farmer has been a pharmacist for 28 years. He has been employed at Volunteer General Hospital in Martin, Van’s Pharmacy in Martin, and Jackson-Madison County General Hospital . He is currently a staff pharmacist at Walgreens in Union City , working there since 2004. He is a member of the West Tennessee Pharmacy Association and the Tennessee Pharmacy Association.

Joe and his wife, Barbara, have one daughter, Linda. He and his family are members at Adams Chapel Baptist Church , where Joe is the treasurer. They reside at 576 Adams Chapel Road , Dresden .. He can be contacted at jfarmer@crunet.com or cell phone number 819-1302.
