Sarah Ann Pentecost is serving her second term on the Weakley County School Board representing the Ninth District. She was appointed in November 1999, elected in 2000 and reelected in 2004.She is currently serving on Board Committees of Finance, Negotiation, Curriculum, School Resource Officers, and the System Plan of Beliefs and Mission.

Sarah Ann retired from the Weakley County School System after teaching 30 years in the Dresden Middle School, Grades 6th and 7th. She graduated from Dresden High School and The University of Tennessee at Martin. She has a B.S. Degree in Education with Elementary and Secondary certifications.

She has an extensive history of volunteer work as an active member of the Administrative Board and many committees at The First United Methodist Church in Dresden, judging at the FCCLA Competition at UTM, helping with Lifeline Blood mobile, a trained volunteer for the Mid-South Transplant Foundation, Inc., and a trained member of the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission for the Disaster Relief Team.

Sarah Ann's community service work includes Weakley County Reading Railroad Board, charter member and past president of Dresden Pilot Club, received the Golden Iris Award in 2003, and has chaired and co-chaired many Tennessee Iris Festival committees.
She participates in several organizations including Delta Kappa Gamma International, Weakley County Democratic Executive Board, Weakley County Democratic Women, and United Methodist Women.

Sarah Ann is a native of Weakley County and resides at 615 Morrow Street in Dresden, TN. Sarah Ann's husband, Mike, is retired from the University of Tennessee, Institute of Public Service. They have one daughter, Lynn, who is an employee of the State of Tennessee.
