SPECIALIZED SERVICES
All of our staff is concerned to assist our residents with any need they may have. Our Care Plan team consists of LPNs and CNAs, as well as representatives from all discipline, including social services and recreation therapy, and with a psychologist and rehabilitation clinician on call as needed.
Weakley County Nursing Home will honor each patient's choice for a family physician; however, we are continually monitored for appropriate medical care by Dr. Kenneth Carr, MD. Dr. Carr has served as our resident medical director since January 1995. Highly skilled Registered Nurses and LPNs are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to dispense and monitor treatments as prescribed by individualized patient care plans. Our experienced RNs are trained to provide specialized nursing services including Wound Care Management, Tube Feeding, Catheterization and Oxygen Therapy.
REHABILITATION SERVICES
Weakley County Nursing Home provides a comprehensive rehabilitation program. A physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist expertly staff our interdisciplinary team of full-time rehabilitation specialists.
Assisted by skilled nurses, our rehab team consults with family physicians to develop individual care plans designed to restore each patient to the highest possible level of independent living. We encourage the involvement of family members in restorative therapy programs.
Rehab therapy services are provided five days a week by a full-time in-house team. Services include:
.Physical Therapy - wound care, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, consultation about orthotics and prosthetics, and assistance with mobility.
.Occupational Therapy - diagnostic-specific retraining in activities of daily living (ADL), cognitive program for dementia patients, splinting and positioning programs.
.Speech Therapy - assistance with disordered speech and language, aural rehab, dysphagia and alternative communication systems to meet individual needs.
RECREATIONAL SERVICES
Our team has developed a recreational program of mental and physical stimulation designed to promote healthy relationships among our patients and between patients and staff.
We offer individual as well as group activities. An active community volunteer program keeps our recreational calendar full with entertainment programs at Weakley County Nursing Home and with social outings into the local community.
NUTRITIONAL SERVICES
Our registered dietician has been on staff for over 20 years and our experience provides us with the ability to offer a wide variety of nutritional menus catering to the specialized diets-and taste preferences-of our patients. Our dining facilities provide three nutritious, visually appealing meals a day, as well as snacks.
