Weakley County is the 6th largest county in road mileage in Tennessee. The purpose of the Weakley County Highway Department is to provide the citizens with safe roads and bridges. Our county is 576 square miles and 368,300 acres. The department provides maintenance to approximately 934 miles of road and 196 bridges. Weakley County contains 262 State of Tennessee road miles.
Our goal is to provide the best possible maintenance in the most cost effective manner possible. We also strive to have all gravel roads paved within the next two years.
You are invited to come by and visit anytime during our normal business hours. We work four 10- hour days and are closed on Fridays and most holidays. However, the WCHD can be reached anytime by contacting the Weakley County dispatch.
