SERVICES OFFERED
You may come in the Register of Deeds Office at anytime and get a copy of your deed, mortgage, military discharge, power of attorney, plats, court decrees, liens, releases, and many other documents. We will also mail or fax any of the above information that is requested along with certified copies. We record documents in a timely manner and then send or give the original documents back to their owner. With the great technology of the future the Register of Deeds Office of Weakley County is now on computer. Our office has information accessible online from January 1995 to Present. This past year we back scanned all the deeds from January 1995 to Present. With this technology you are able to go online and actually view the image of the deeds. The deeds of trust or mortgages are imaged from January 1995 to Present. A misconception is that we keep the original documents. Everything that is sent into our office must be the original, but then we scan the original document into our data base where an image is made and then our computer system backs up the information every 10 minutes. A backup of all our information is also stored off site locally as well as in the Hills of Piney Flats, Tennessee in the case of an emergency or natural disaster.
