Each one of us has an important responsibility in preventing the transmission of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). While this is a global pandemic with serious effects on our nation and state, I understand that we must all do our part locally to halt the spread of this virus in Weakley County. Moreover, I believe that if every county and city across the nation would take this step in personal accountability to prevent transmission on the most local level, many lives could be saved. I understand that Coronavirus is a respiratory illness that spreads from person to person and has resulted in thousands of confirmed cases and deaths worldwide. I understand that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], World Health Organization [WHO], and experts in the fields of healthcare and public safety agree that the best way to prevent the illness is to avoid exposure. Do you agree? *

Therefore, by signing this promise, I pledge to protect myself and thereby every individual with whom I encounter from potential exposure by: 1.) Implementing a Weakley County Work-Home Plan for my household: If I cannot work from home, I vow to go from work directly to my home and vice versa whenever possible; and 2.) Limiting my interaction with individuals outside of my household to virtual interactions whenever possible; and 3.) Keeping the physical distance of six (6) to ten (10) feet with others wherever possible; and 4.) Washing hands, staying home when sick, calling my doctor if starting to exhibit symptoms, wearing a mask and other protective measures when needed, and adhering to CDC & WHO guidelines for prevention. I pledge to make it my mission to #FlattenOurCurveinWeakleyCounty for the protection of myself, my household, my work unit, and thereby every individual who lives in Weakley County, Tennessee.
