what's acceptable?

 The Weakley County Solid Waste Center will accept many items for proper disposal for a fee, and some items are accepted free of charge. Please also see our list of items that are NOT accepted for any reason. Fee prices are subject to change.  

Items accepted free of charge:
Aluminum drink cans
All metal
Batteries
Bricks
Brush
Clean motor oil - 5 gal per day per person - Motor Oil must not be mixed with brake fluid, antifreeze, water, etc.

Keep oil in container with lid closed.
Wood that is not painted, stained or treated
Ceramics

Acceptable Items for Disposal for a Fee:
Household bagged trash - $1.00 for small, $2.00 for large
TVs - $2.00
Carpet - $20.00 per pickup load
$15 small pickup load, $20 large pickup load
White goods: White goods includes washers, dryers, stoves, etc. Appliances with freon must have a receipt indicating proper disposal of the freon from that unit, or pay $10 fee for freon disposal at the convenience center site. 
Tires: All tires are accepted for $2.00 each, regardless of the tire size. For an appointment to deliver tires, please call: (731) 364-6798, Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Periodically once or twice per year we will have a Household Hazardous Waste Event. At that time you are welcome to bring your hazardous waste to the center. Watch your newspapers for items that you can bring and cannot bring and dates and times of those events. 

Location:
Intersection of State Highway 22 and Junction 217 next to Dresden High School go all the way to the top of the hill, you will see a small building on the right. Stop there to check in your items.
